Rainor Robinson is a Consulting Partner at Manokore Attorneys and head of the Infrastructure and Power Team. His team is dedicated to commercial transactions, covering infrastructure projects, mining, mineral beneficiation, aviation and telecommunications.
Rainor specializes in business strategy, planning & structuring, joint developments, PPP, aviation, mining, power and infrastructure. His career began in 1980 in the Ministry of Justice. He worked as a prosecutor and a magistrate before joining private practice. His commercial law background has seen him travelling extensively in Europe, India, Asia, and within the region engaging with clients and capital as well as pursuing business opportunities. He is a founding member and director of a substantial mining house and a telecommunications infrastructure company. Rainor Robinson is an IFLR ranked lawyer within the Energy & Infrastructure Sector.
Experience has included advising:
- In partnerships between telecommunication engineering companies and network operators, and equipment suppliers for the roll-out of mobile network infrastructure in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique
- GSM Base Station Shelter on the supply agreements and stand-by power, power saving equipment units
- A large telecommunications entity on optic fiber installation in Zimbabwe
- Air Zimbabwe in unbundling into a number of different companies i.e. Ground Handling Services Company, Ticketing Company, the training school and the operating company as well as the acquisition of aircraft
- A local entity in the development of a renewable energy technology park in the Middle Sabi region, which will have an installed capacity of 300 MW
- A local company on legal advice for thermal power plants in Zimbabwe and Zambia
- A local company on legal advice on mini hydro plants in Zimbabwe
- A local company on legal advice on solar PV power plants
- A local company on legal advice on natural gas power plants in Zimbabwe and Mozambique
- A mining company on mine developments both greenfield and brownfield as well as acquisitions in the mining sector and mineral trades
