We hereby inform the business community and other interested parties that, from 20 August of this year the exportation of precious metals and gemstone will be conditioned to the issuance of a certificate of origin and the respective packaging issued by the Kimberley Process Management Unit.

This measure aims to conform the export process of precious metals and gemstone to the Regulation for the Marketing of Diamonds, Precious Metals and Gemstones (Decree no. 25/2015 of 20 November), as well as with the industry international practices. Of note that, pursuant to this regulations the requirement to issue certificates of origin is provided for since 2015, however, the conditions for its issuance were not yet met. .
