Chiko is the Senior Partner and head of Chibesakunda & Company's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He has over 25 years' experience advising clients in relation to litigation, arbitration and regulatory and compliance issues across a number of sectors including fast moving consumer goods, industrials and financial services.

Chiko’s experience spans acting for multinational corporate clients and large local corporate state-owned enterprises in relation to a wide range of contentious issues. Chiko has established  a strong practice in the area of regulatory litigation where he has represented clients before, among others, the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, the Capital Markets tribunal, the Planning Appeals tribunal.

Experience has included advising:

  • Hybrid Poultry Farm in relation to a claim for compensation for land against a competing land user
  • Puma Energy on sale of various filling stations throughout the country 
  • An international syndicate of insurers on the nature and extent of liability arising from a potential claim by a Zambian based client arising from a court action brought against the Zambian entity
  • Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) on various employment issues
  • Manzi Valley, a local bottled water producer, in an action for the recovery of damages from competing bottled water producers for the infringement of intellectual property
  • MRI Seed/Syngenta in relation to an adverse competition and consumer protect claim
  • Daewoo Engineering in relation to the recovery of debt owed under a commercial contract
  • Hybrid Poultry Farm in relation to an adverse competition and consumer protect claim
  • MRI Seed/Syngenta in relation to an adverse competition and consumer protect claim
  • Zambian Breweries Plc in relation to an adverse securities and exchange commission claim
