Edmond Epongu’s practice covers Energy, projects and infrastructure. Edmond acts for financial and infrastructure entities both in the public and private sphere on a variety of legal, regulatory and transactional matters. Edmond has significant experience in the areas of electricity, construction law and project contracting and management. Edmond is currently advising the EPC contractor of the 600MW Karuma hydropower Project on various regulatory mandates and contractual management. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
Experience has included advising:
- Sinohydro Corporation, the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, on the mandate to construct the US$ 2.2 billion 600MW Karuma hydro power project, and a variety of legal and regulatory mandates including contract management, construction, and environmental obligations.
- Optum Holdings Ltd on a variety of legal and regulatory matters to include but not limited to advising on their engagement to their business partners, advising Aggreko through Optum Holdings on the energy sector opportunities in East Africa.
- Temple Holdings Ltd on the Uganda legal and regulatory operations regime in the areas of project and infrastructure.
- Advising on land rights and land acquisition, including compulsory land acquisition, resettlement action plan initiatives and compensation requirements.

- Advocate admitted to the High Court of Uganda.
