Denise Isimbi is an Associate at Equity Juris Chambers. Her areas of practice include corporate, dispute resolution, data protection, real estate, and employment law.
Prior to joining the firm, Denise worked as an Associate at a Rwandan-based law firm, where she specialised in dispute resolution, commercial law, and contract law, among other areas. Her duties included providing legal opinions on a range of issues and drafting and reviewing contracts ranging from employment contracts to NDAs, settlement agreements, company and NGO bylaws, resolutions, and construction contracts. She also acted as tribunal secretary in arbitral proceedings and represented clients in dispute resolution proceedings such as courts, mediations, negotiations, and arbitration proceedings.
Experience has included advising:
- Companies in negotiations, reviewing and drafting various commercial contracts including, founders’ agreements, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, facility agreements, asset acquisition agreements and real estate conveyancing.
- Companies and non-profits on structuring and establishing their Rwandan entities and assisting with regulatory compliance.
- Different clients on international data transfer requirements and agreements with overseas data recipients and assisting in ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
- Representing clients in dispute resolution proceedings.
