Job Summary 

To represent the Firm across a broad spectrum of Intellectual Property and Technology/ Employment matters. This includes drafting employment terms such employment contracts and employee handbooks, advising on workplace policies, disciplinary and grievance issues, industrial relations, etc and overseeing intellectual property matters, particularly as they relate to brand protection. The candidate will also handle trademark registration and any issues arising from the process, enforce IP rights, implement anti-counterfeiting measures, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
The ideal candidate will have experience in employment matters including dispute resolution and should be familiar with the laws applicable to employment in Nigeria and intellectual property especial trademarks, patent and industrial designs. He/she should be a proactive, detail-oriented professional, who can deliver timely, high-quality legal solutions and collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualification     

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L)

Experience    

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ post qualification experience specializing in Intellectual Property and Technology and/or Employment law.
  • Proven track record in handling trademark registrations, intellectual property enforcement, and anti-counterfeiting actions.
  • Proven track record in drafting employment contracts, advising on workplace policies, disciplinary and grievance procedures, industrial relations and handling employment disputes.
  • Experience overseeing intellectual property matters—specifically in the context of brand protection.
  • Experience in providing tailored legal counsel to clients, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge and exposure to regulatory frameworks for Intellectual Property and Technology and labour laws in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and transactions efficiently under tight deadlines
