Michelle is an Associate in the Commercial Employment & IPT Practice Group. She advises a diverse range of clients on local, regional and international commercial matters including employment, intellectual property, data protection, information and communication technology.

Michelle has been involved in a spectrum of transactions on employment procedures and processes, review of HR Manuals and employment contracts, as well as the different termination options available. She has also been involved in the registration and regularization of various entities such as local and international PBOs, companies, and trusts. She is also part of the immigration team and advises clients on the different immigration options.

Michelle also assists clients with various compliance requirements under different regulatory bodies including the Kenya Intellectual Property Institute (KIPI), Public Benefit Organisations (PBO) Authority and the Business Registration Service (BRS).

Experience has included advising:

  • As a team member, various international Public Benefit Organizations on the setting up and post registration requirements in Kenya.
  • As a team member, various local and multinational entities on the setting up options in Kenya and internal restructuring.
  • As a team member, an international client on various aspects of employment law including spilt currency pay,  resignation of an employee, and employee structure change in line with Kenyan law.
  • As a team member, an international client on their data handling practices and data processing agreements.
  • As a team member, an international client on mutual separation processes and drafting the separation agreements
  • As a team member, a local client on a software development and maintenance agreement for their mobile application
  • As a team member, an international bank on a data sharing agreement and data handling in line with Kenyan law

  • Advocate admitted to the High Court of Kenya (2023)

Education

  • Kenya School of Law, Diploma in Law (2021-2023)
  • Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2015-2020)
