Kemunto is an associate in the Commercial, Employment and IPT Practice Group of IKM. She advises clients on a wide range of commercial matters including corporate set-ups, intellectual property, employment, immigration, data protection and privacy and engaging regulators across various sectors.
Kemunto has handled various intellectual property applications, including the registration and renewal of trademarks. She has also advised on a wide range of employment and commercial matters. Her expertise includes the preparation and review of employment contracts and human resource manuals, as well as advising employers on redundancy, termination of employment contracts, and mutual separation agreements.
Kemunto also assists clients with various compliance requirements under different regulatory bodies including the Business Registration Services (BRS), Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and Department of Immigration Services (DIS).
Experience has included advising:
- As a team member, advised an international NGO on Kenyan law on redundancy, fixed term contracts and applicable options in transitioning to a clean break of new contractual regimes.
- As a team member, advised various local and international clients on termination processes of employment under Kenyan laws.
- As a team member, advising local and international NGOs on the impact of the new law, Public Benefits Organizations on their operations
